CANCELLED – Community Town Hall Meeting
A message from the Deputy Mayor re: the cancellation of event:
Dear residents of Amherst Island,
I appreciate that this is late notice, but I have asked staff to postpone this evening’s town hall meeting. While the town hall meetings are primarily for the purpose of sharing consistent information across the entire municipality, each community invariably has particular concerns. I know that the ferry operation is always top of mind for Amherst Island residents. When it comes to the ferry there are several things in the works right now that I anticipate will be greeted as good news but are not yet finalized or are awaiting confirmation. One of these is a new pay system for instance. Essentially, out of respect for Amherst Island residents and the quality of information residents expect, I think a better, more informed discussion can be had if myself and staff have a little more time. Of course, I am available in the meantime if there are questions, but I hope to see lots of folks come out on the new date, tentatively planned for Monday December 8th. I sincerely appreciate everyone’s continued support and engagement.
