Festiposium, McMullen House
Dry Stone Canada is returning to Amherst Island for a special “festiposium”—smaller than a festival, bigger than a workshop—focused on community, knowledge-sharing, and hands-on walling. Hosted at the historic McMullen Farm, the event continues the restoration of the farm’s stone wall, with opportunities for members of all skill levels to learn, work together, and connect with wallers from across the globe.
Highlights include:
-
Friendly Walling Competition – Sept 26
-
Wall Restorations & Cheekend Rebuilding – Sept 27–28 (open to members and past workshop participants)
-
Evening Talks & Film Screenings – featuring guest wallers from Greece and researcher Audra McMullen
-
Beginner Stone Carving Workshop – Sept 27–28, led by Danny Barber (open to all levels)
Sign-up is required for participation to help with food, drink, and accommodations. Membership and introductory workshops are available for newcomers.
